Competition is one of the most important issues raised in ecology, it is an unknown mechanism through which plants affect each other and causes changes in the structural characteristics and dynamics of the forest. In order to analyze the competition values and the structural characteristics of the Iranian oak stands in the protected area of Kalajah (Kermanshah), while identifying high stand, coppice stand, coppice-high stand, three plots of one hectare were randomly selected in each of them ,and first in each of them, to investigate the characteristics The structure of the species name, form growth, number Sprout, diameter at breast height, height of trees and dominant height of sprout clump and two diameters perpendicular of the crown were recorded. Then, in order to investigate the effects of competition, 10 target and adjacent trees were selected in each sample plot, which had the minimum distance from each other, and all their structural features were recorded. The results showed on average, there are 123.33 trees in the high stand, 129 in the coppice-high stand, and 127 in the coppice stand. The results showed that all the structural features studied in the stands of the region have significant differences with each other and this will indicate the different shape and nature of the stands. The study of the correlation of the Heygi index with the structural features in the coppice stand shows that none of the investigated parameters are correlated with the Heygi index. However, in the high stand, all the studied parameters have a correlation with the competitive index (P<0.01) and in the coppice-high stand, except for the diameter of the breast and the number of Sprout, the other structural parameters studied have a correlation with the mentioned index (P<0.01). The results of this research reveal more than ever the need to pay attention to a separate planning system in the discussion of protection and revival and breeding operations for Zagros forests based on the vegetation forms of each region.
