Cultivation patterns are among the influential factors in the growth and development of the agricultural sector, which can contribute to the development of rural areas. The main objective of this research is to investigate the consequences of implementing garden development plans on sloping lands on the progress of rural areas in Minudasht, a city in northern Iran. This study employs a descriptive-analytical method, with data collected through library and survey studies. The statistical population includes supervisors of olive growers in the villages of Minudasht City, and the sample size was determined using Cochran's formula, resulting in 157 households. The independent variable in this research is "olive grove development," while the dependent variables consist of 44 items categorized into economic and social dimensions. The results showed that there is no significant difference between the seven indicators studied, except for the economic security index, before and after olive cultivation. Additionally, only the index of the population's tendency to persist showed a decreasing trend after olive cultivation, while the averages of the other indices increased compared to before the change in cultivation patterns. Factor analysis results revealed that two indicators—security and economic well-being—in the economic dimension of rural households accounted for 80% of the total variance among different factors. According to the results, there is a significant relationship between olive cultivation and the development of the studied areas. Olive cultivation has positively impacted production, increased rural household income, and consequently improved economic well-being.
