Abstract:   (66 Views)
Social capital is a key factor in preserving and managing natural resources. Societies that have strong social relationships and networks have better opportunities for enhancing collaboration, sharing knowledge, resolving conflicts, mobilizing resources, and supporting sustainable actions. Understanding and nurturing social capital is crucial in creating flexible and effective systems for the sustainable conservation and utilization of natural resources. In this regard, the present study aims to examine and compare the perspectives of experts and stakeholders regarding public participation in the conservation, restoration, development, and utilization of the Emamzadeh Abdollah Amol forests through the indigenization of 7 criteria and 65 sustainability indicators developed in the Near East process. To achieve this, questionnaires were developed and distributed among various groups involved in the region. The reliability of the questionnaires was checked using Cronbach's alpha coefficient in SPSS 26, and a satisfactory reliability coefficient of 0.622 was obtained. To weigh the sustainability criteria and prioritize the localization indicators, the OPA model and LINGO 14.0 software were used. The results indicated that more than 30% of the study population (870 individuals) have multiple occupations. The priority ranking of the localization indicators using the OPA model showed that the "helping to enhance facilities and human resources for conservation and restoration" indicator had the highest weight (0.27), while the "support and trust in government and programs" indicator had the lowest weight (0.10). Also, the weighting results of the criteria and indicators of the Near East process investigated in the present study showed that the criterion of "protection functions of forest resources" has the highest rank and the most weight among the examined criteria with the introduction of the index of "recreational value" with a rank of 1 and a weight of 0.28. According to the result of the localization of social capital indicators in Emamzadeh Abdollah Amol  region, the recreational value index is an effective approach that sociologists, researchers, and politicians can use to design and implement effective natural resource protection and management systems. Considering the importance of natural resources in preserving biological fields and providing raw materials for the economy, the value of localization of social capital indicators as a practical and effective tool cannot be hidden.
