Abstract:   (807 Views)
Ecotourism is a new approach to nature tourism that has been proposed in recent years. This research was conducted over two years (2021-2022) in Kohdasht county. Its purpose was to identify areas that are suitable for ecotourism and to determine their feasibility based on existing capabilities and required infrastructure, from the point of view of experts familiar with the region. For this purpose, first, a list of ecotourism places was specific and visited in the field. In the next step, a number of managers, employees, and experts of the executive bodies familiar with ecotourism were interviewed through a questionnaire (Likert scale) with the three axes of infrastructures and required facilities, threatening factors, and management factors of ecotourism development. The research findings revealed that Kohdasht county has great potential for ecotourism due to its diverse geological conditions, topography, climate, and vegetation. Additionally, the rural and nomadic context, geographical location, and ancient monuments provide good support for the development of ecotourism in the area. Based on this, the main phenomenon with ecotourism capability with thirty sites were identified in the county, including forests, mountains, caves, rivers, springs, tourist villages, rural gardens, pastures, nomadic life, and Shirez Strait. The factors threatening ecotourism in these areas, in order of importance, include the absence or lack of environmental infrastructure (parking, sanitary facilities, etc.), Inadequate quality of roads, releasing waste and plastic residue, weakness in mobile network and internet, the lack of attention to the forest, pasture and vegetation areas of the city and its destruction, lack of legal support and planting by tourists in natural areas.
